St Thomas a Becket Church, a Local church

This lonely and beautiful little church is in Northaw, Potters Bar, north of London.
St Thomas a Becket Church, formerly known as St Thomas of Canterbury, was the third church built on the site in 1882. (The church before, dedicated in 1810, was completely destroyed by fire in 1881.) St Thomas' is a fine example of Victorian Gothic style at its best. The architects were Charles Kirk & Sons of Sleaford, Lincs and the builder John Bentley of Waltham Abbey. Some re-ordering work was carried out in 2005.
The beautifully stained glass windows were designed by Ward & Hughes between 1886-1897.
The Tower is 73' high, has parapet walls with pierced tracery panelling and four pinnacles, 12' high. There is a ring of 6 bells, the heaviest being 13cwt. Cast by Taylors of Loughborough and dedicated in 1884. The clock strikes the hour on the largest bell.
The organ was built by Henry Willis, has 2 manuals and 14 stops.
The stone pulpit is elaborately carved with figures of the evangelists and apostles.
All around the church are various beautiful wall paintings to be admired.

Built: 1882

Favourite Inn, chinese restaurant

Recently i became a big fan of chinese food, specially their chicken curry or king prawn curry. I must say that the taste and quality of these currys are different from place to place. Here at Favourite Inn, to be honest, i didn't find their food very impressing, i didn't like all that not properly cooked green peas and onion in their curry! they're in woolwich, east london.
